European Cooperation Day 2013

European Cooperation Day

13.-21.09.2013

Beneficiaries and partners invited to join the celebrations of the European Cooperation Day 2013

On 21 September 2013 and the surrounding days the European Cooperation Day 2013 will be celebrated throughout the European Union and beyond to increase awareness on achievements of territorial cooperation in Europe. “Sharing borders, growing closer” is the motto for the celebration of this spirit of cooperation in Europe, as territorial cooperation also involves neighbouring countries of the EU, including Ukraine.

Beneficiaries and partners implementing cross-border cooperation projects within the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI CBC Programme 2007-2013 are invited to jointly celebrate the European Cooperation Day 2013 by promoting the cross-border cooperation and popularising particularly the achievements of the ENPI CBC projects implemented between Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine.

The concept of this year\'s celebrations is to organise European Cooperation Day activities and events in all 8 counties of the 4 countries of the Programme connected by a series of bicycle tours. In this way, a broader audience including children and families could be addressed all over the eligible territories of the participating countries of the Programme. All those interested in cross-border cooperation are invited to take the bike and ride across the border in order to celebrate the European Cooperation Day 2013.

The events where the Joint Technical Secretariat will be able to participate are starting on 17 September in Prešov and Košice (Slovakia), will continue on 18 September in Uzhhorod, Mukachevo and Solotvino (Ukraine), on 19 September will take place in Baia Mare and Satu Mare (Romania), and will finish on 20 and 21 September 2013 in Nyíregyháza and Miskolc (Hungary). Nevertheless if you have already planned project events in the surrounding days please do not change the schedule just join to the EC Day initiative and use this communication tool.

Beneficiaries and partners are invited to organise local Day events and activities in their cities and villages in cooperation with local authorities and other stakeholders in order to increase awareness among general public about the achievements of the Programme and celebrate the European Cooperation Day.
