Project details

Project name: Feasibility study on creation of infrastructure services in the High Tisza River basin.
Country / Region: Ukraine, Zakarpatska
Priority: Priority 1: Promote economic and social development
Area of intervention: Measure 1.2 Create better conditions for SMEs and business development
Action:
Project targets: Main project activities planned:
- Formation of working and expert groups, meetings and workshops to develop concepts and recommendations to improve the accessibility of border areas;
- Analysis and inventory decisions, a common approach to the problem of accessibility of territories;
- A common action plan to address accessibility issues and present areas of expert advice and environmental assessment at each stage of the project;
- Involvement of leading experts to participate in working groups and expert work of leading environmental experts and environmentalists, representatives of customs and border services travel services on both sides of the border. Exchange of experiences, joint consultations and conferences on the development of navigation and the existence of such river ports in the other European Union external borders;
- Exploring opportunities and developing joint plans of action, analysis and recommendations on the development of new combination;
- Development of a feasibility study of border infrastructure;
- Joint seminars and training with the participation of governments, representatives of SMEs, CCI, civic organizations and experts on both sides of the border, carrying 2 conferences. Presenting the work of experts and working groups sessions, district and regional councils, presentations at the intergovernmental commissions;
- A separate application for the population of border regions in order to inform and raise awareness through balanced development of ecological tourism without endangering the environment and the effectiveness of the project.
Project results: Expected outputs and results:
The results of the project will create conditions for opening a water communication from Ukraine Danube basin countries through the territory of the Republic of Hungary, the Slovak Republic and the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which will have significant impact on international, national and regional levels.
Description: Specific problem to be addressed:
1. Providing synchronized action on both sides of the border.
2. Creating the concept of navigation in the upper Tisza River and feasibility study on construction of river port in accordance with the recommendations made.
3. Improving skills of local government, representatives of SMEs, civil society and raising public consciousness.
