“Sharing borders, growing closer” in frame of EC Day

The European Cooperation Day is 21 September 2012 and will be celebrated all over Europe and in neighbouring countries for the first time ever. Connecting events will be taking place during the week 17-23 September and even some days before and after. The aim of the campaign, which carries the slogan “Sharing borders, growing closer” is to celebrate the achievements of cooperation between European regions and countries.

The HU-SK-RO-UA ENPI CBC Programme invites you to join us in the celebration with particular attention to the achievements of ENPI CBC projects implemented between Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine.

A series of project events will happen within the HU-SK-RO-UA ENPI CBC Programme from 13 September onward under the umbrella of EC Day addressing a broad audience including children and families all over the eligible territories of the four participating countries.

Schedule of projects’ Interactive Open Days and events with exact venues and dates will be uploaded soon.

In the meantime, let us share just a few examples of the wide range of local interactive project events:

  • Inception conference in the frame of project titled “Integrated network of bicycle touring routes along the Ukrainian-Hungarian border” in Uzhgorod (UA)
  • Innovation fair for entrepreneurs in Uzhgorod (UA)
  •  Introducing Traditional Crafts in Sátoraljaújhely (HU)
  • "Slovenska veselytsa", slovak traditional folks and dances festival in Square of the Regional Drama Theatre, Uzhgorod (UA)
  • Introducing an environmental-health conscious, health promoting school setting containing an ECO playing house in Nyíregyháza (HU) 
  • Football game in Village Drienica (SK)
  • Project titled “Waste reduction by composting – popularizing composting in Transcarpathia and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county” participating at local festival in Csenger (HU)
  • International scientific and practical conference on “WAYS TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY OF TRANSBORDER COOPERATION ON THE NEW EASTERN BORDER OF EU" in Stara Lesna (SK)
  • “European Mobility Week in Carpathy” in Mukachevo (UA)

Please note that the list is not finalized yet and further possible events are still under negotiation.
