Overall objective:

The overall objective of the Romanian-Ukrainian Large Scale Project is to increase border efficiency and to enhance cross-border cooperation through the development of the supporting infrastructure at border crossing point “Halmeu – Diakove” and strengthening cooperation between the authorities responsible for border management at policy and executive levels.

Specific objectives:

-       Increase the operational capacity of border crossing points

-       Increase a transit potential of the region;

-       Facilitate trade between Ukraine and EU;

-       Positively impact on security and fight cross-border crime.

-       Support tourism development in the region 

Estimated results:

-       improvement of infrastructure at border crossing points, in order to fulfil the EU criteria or standards;

-       upgrade of the road and pedestrian component;

-       construction of new customs premises in Halmeu and Diakove

-       equipment dedicated to the customs and border control delivered, installed and fully operational at the level of Halmeu Customs Office, Diakove Customs Office, Mukacheve BG detachment
