| Project targets: |
A. To raise awarenes on necessity to move from dependence on external solutions to generating your own and fostering development of local visions with emphasis on the cross-border cooperation.
B. To develop expertise and support professional cooperation amongst local government specialists throughout the target region in setting up governance enabling development of economic activities based on the community economic models on the principle “Local resources for local development”.
C. To network and connect entrepreneurial community with one another as well as with public authorities to apply new economic models for local development.
D. To elaborate plans and carry out pilot local economic activities in selected sectors applicable for Slovak-Ukraine cross-border cooperation
E. To establish the long-term targeted support of public institutions to perspective and workable cross-border cooperation of local business activities

Entrepreneurs and representatives of local governments aware of inevitability of introducing new local economic models exploiting potential of the cross-border region
Knowledgeable, skilled, motivated and cooperated public authorities in the area of governance to create an enabling environment for new economic models on both sides of the border lines
Established cross-sectoral partnerships and networks of the border region
Linked up and cooperating local governments in order to support local economic models
Pilot demonstration projects initiated

| Description: |
Limited development and continuing marginalization of the Slovak-Ukraine territory adjacent to the Schengen border is caused, apart from other reasons, mainly by lack of perception of vicinity of neighboring country (area) as an asset and not a barrier for economic development, missing regional cross-border identity, lack of confidence and sense of self-reliance among the community, weak governance of the territory development by regional (kraj/rajon) and municipal/city public authorities, absence of know-how in community based economic models on the principle “Local resources for local development”, missing targeted specific cross-border economic sectors plans and permanent and high quality support for those who would like to intensify or start up their activities exploiting mainly local resources and local market (under the targeted locality/region is meant mainly Zakarpatska oblast (region) and eastern part of the Kosice and Presov regions) . |
