Project name: Carpathian Culinary Heritage Network
Country / Region: Ukraine, Ivano–Frankivska
Priority: Priority 1: Promote economic and social development
Area of intervention: Measure 1.1 Harmonised development of tourism
Action:
Project targets: The project goal is to preserve and promote Carpathian culinary traditions and cuisine throughout border regions of four countries – Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia. This will target general domestic and foreign visitors/tourists to the project area, niche market of the culinary travelers, local SMEs (guides, travel companies, restaurants etc), local communities to support their living and generate additional income, young people and future generations in order to preserve local traditions (students of culinary schools etc).
Project results: The project anticipated activities/outputs are:
1. Carpathian Culinary Heritage Networking and branding. In perspective - joining the European culinary heritage network
2. Support to Carpathian Culinary Heritage friendly accommodation/catering facilities
3. Cooking schools
4. Carpathian Traditional Cuisine Festival
5. International competition for cooking educational facilities students, teachers, curriculum
6. Transfrontier Culinary Heritage Trails (routes) development
7. Culinary Heritage related travel promotion though a) promotion publications, b)Carpathian traditional recipes book, c)Carpathian culinary heritage web-site, d)Carpathian culinary heritage promotion video/film, e)participation in the tourism exhibitions
8. Promotional events: 1) travel writers visit, 2)tour operators visit to the project area
9. Training for SMEs (guides, restaurants, travel companies and hotels) and culinary educational establishments. Study tours/exchange visits
10. Set of TV programmes promoting cuisine of involved countries /regions
Description: The project goal is to preserve and promote Carpathian culinary traditions and cuisine throughout border regions of four countries – Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia.
Estimated budget: app 500.000 Euro
Estimated duration: 24 months
